How to solve the abnormal vibration of air suspension blower during operation?

Abnormal vibration of air suspension blower during operation may be caused by many reasons, and the following are the corresponding solutions:

First, check the installation foundation

Loose or uneven foundation

Cause analysis: If the installation foundation of the air suspension blower is not firm or the surface is uneven, the vibration of the blower will be transmitted to the ground through the base during operation, and the uneven ground will also lead to additional vibration of the blower.

Solution: Check the installation foundation of the fan to ensure its firmness. If the foundation is loose, it is necessary to re-tighten the anchor bolts or increase the damping pad to enhance the stability. For uneven installation foundation, gaskets can be used or the foundation surface can be reshaped, so that the fan base can be placed horizontally and stably.

Second, check the impeller part

Impeller imbalance

Cause analysis: There may be uneven mass distribution in the manufacturing process of the impeller, or in the long-term operation process, the impeller is worn and corroded, resulting in unbalanced mass. In addition, foreign matter attached to the impeller will also cause imbalance. When the impeller is unbalanced, centrifugal force will be generated, which will lead to abnormal vibration of the fan.

Solution: First stop the operation of the fan, open the casing of the fan, and check whether there is any foreign matter attached to the impeller. If yes, carefully remove foreign objects. For the imbalance of the impeller itself, professional impeller balancing equipment can be used for detection and correction. Generally, the balance of the impeller is achieved by adding or removing the counterweight at the appropriate position of the impeller.

Impeller damage

Cause analysis: The impeller may be damaged by fatigue due to collision with the shell and long-term high-speed operation, or it may be cracked and deformed due to the impact of foreign objects. The damaged impeller will destroy the normal operation of the fan and produce vibration.

Solution: Check the integrity of the impeller carefully. If the impeller is found to have cracks, deformation and other damage, it needs to be replaced with a new impeller. After replacing the impeller, make sure it is installed correctly and carry out dynamic balance test to ensure the normal operation of the fan.

Third, check the motor part

Motor shaft misalignment

Cause analysis: If the connection between the motor shaft and the fan shaft is not on the same straight line, that is, the shaft is not centered, additional radial force will be generated during operation, which will lead to the vibration of the fan and the motor. This may be caused by improper installation, component displacement after long-term operation or loose connecting components.

Solution: Check the coupling or connecting parts of motor and fan to see if there is looseness, wear or deformation. If the shaft is found to be misaligned, the shaft can be realigned by adjusting the position of the motor. In the process of adjustment, professional tools (such as dial indicator) are needed to accurately measure and adjust the shaft alignment to ensure that the concentricity of the motor shaft and the fan shaft is within the allowable error range.

Motor bearing failure

Cause analysis: After long-term use, motor bearings may be worn, poorly lubricated or damaged by balls. This will cause the motor to run unsteadily, and then cause the fan to vibrate.

Solution: Stop the fan operation and check the motor bearing. You can feel the operation of the bearing by manually rotating the motor shaft. If there is any jam, looseness or abnormal noise, it is likely that there is something wrong with the bearing. If it is poor lubrication, you can add a proper amount of grease; If the bearing is worn or damaged, it needs to be replaced with a new bearing. After replacing the bearing, make sure that the bearing is installed correctly and adjusted properly.

Fourth, check the aerodynamic factors

Uneven or blocked air intake

Cause analysis: If the air inlet of air suspension blower is designed irrationally, blocked by foreign objects, or the air inlet pipe leaks or bends excessively, it will lead to uneven air intake or insufficient air intake, thus causing the fan to vibrate.

Solution: Check the air inlet and air inlet pipe. Clean up the foreign matter in the air inlet to ensure smooth air intake. For the air inlet pipe, check whether there is any leakage point, and if there is any leakage, use sealing material to repair it. At the same time, optimize the design of the intake pipe to avoid excessive bending or sudden change of pipe diameter and ensure uniform intake.

surge

Cause analysis: Surge may occur when the fan runs under unstable working conditions. Surge is due to the periodic violent fluctuation of the flow and pressure of the fan under certain conditions, which leads to the strong vibration of the fan. This is usually related to the working point of the fan close to the surge boundary, the change of resistance characteristics of the pipeline system and other factors.

Solution: By adjusting the operating parameters of the fan (such as speed, flow rate, pressure, etc.), the working point of the fan is far from the surge boundary. Anti-surge devices (such as vent valves, reflux valves, etc.) can be installed to control the flow of the fan and avoid entering the surge zone. At the same time, the pipeline system is optimized to reduce unnecessary resistance and ensure the fan to run under stable working conditions.
