Judging whether the screw blower needs to add lubricating oil can be carried out from the following aspects:

Observe the oil level:

Inspection of oil level window: Screw blower is usually equipped with oil level window or oil gauge. During normal operation, the oil level should be within the specified range of the window or oil gauge. If the oil level is significantly lower than the minimum mark line, it means that the amount of lubricating oil is insufficient and lubricating oil needs to be added. Generally speaking, the oil level should be kept in the middle position or above when the machine is stopped.

Observation of startup state: If it is found that the oil level drops rapidly during the operation of the equipment, even if the current oil level is still within the normal range, there may be leakage of lubricating oil or excessive consumption, so it is necessary to check and consider adding lubricating oil in time.

Check the running time: the lubricating oil replacement cycle of screw blowers in different models and using environments will be different, but there are generally recommended running intervals. If the equipment has been running for a long time, approaching or reaching the specified oil change cycle, it may be necessary to add or replace lubricating oil even if the oil level looks normal. For example, some screw blowers may need lubricating oil maintenance after running for 2000-3000 hours.

Monitoring equipment operation status:

Abnormal temperature: If the temperature of the bearing or other key parts of the screw blower is too high, it may be not only the failure of the cooling system, but also the poor lubrication caused by insufficient lubricating oil or the decline of lubricating oil performance. In this case, it is necessary to check the condition of lubricating oil, including whether it needs to be added or replaced.

Noise and vibration changes: When the amount of lubricating oil is insufficient or the quality becomes worse, the friction between parts of the screw blower will increase, which may lead to an obvious increase in noise and vibration when the equipment is running. If it is found that the noise and vibration of the equipment have obviously changed compared with the normal operation in the past, check whether there is any problem with the lubricating oil.

Check the quality of lubricating oil:

Color change: Normal lubricating oil is clear or light yellow in color. If the color of the lubricating oil turns black, darkens, or appears turbidity and precipitation, it indicates that the lubricating oil may have been oxidized or polluted and needs to be replaced. At the same time, it can be judged that the previous lubricating oil may have been consumed to the extent that it needs to be added.

Hand feeling judgment: take a small amount of lubricating oil and press it with your fingers. If you feel that the lubricating oil has strong adhesion and more gum, or you can obviously feel that there are granular impurities in it, it means that the lubricating oil has deteriorated or mixed with impurities and needs to be replaced, which also means that the previous lubricating oil quantity may be insufficient.
