What are the pressure loss parameters for Roots blowers?

Negative pressure pneumatic conveying in the selection of air source fans will basically use the following types of fans, centrifugal fans, vortex air pumps, roots blowers, when using fans we need to consider two important parameters, respectively, air volume parameters and pressure parameters.

1. Air volume

Wind speed, pipe diameter, and throughput can be determined

2. Wind pressure

Determine the distance of material delivery, the number of pipe bends, the height that can be lifted, and the throughput.

Typical stress comparisons are as follows:

Wind pressure of Roots fan > Vortex air pump > Centrifugal fan

The negative pressure of Roots fan can reach -60Kpa, the negative pressure of vortex air pump is generally -30Kpa, and the wind pressure of centrifugal fan is generally below -3Kpa.

Roots fan large air volume, large air pressure. Vortex air pump small air volume, high wind pressure. Centrifugal fan large air volume, small air pressure.

We know that there is a term of pressure loss in pneumatic conveying, and I believe that professionals who have been doing pneumatic conveying for many years do not necessarily know what pressure loss represents. So what is pressure loss? What is the significance of pressure loss?

Pressure loss refers to: pressure loss, also known as pressure drop, pressure loss, is a technical and economic indicator that indicates the size of energy consumed by the device, expressed by the total pressure difference of the fluid at the entrance and exit of the device, which essentially reflects the mechanical energy consumed by the fluid through the dust removal device (or other devices), and is proportional to the power consumed by the fan.

This explanation may not be fully understood, that is, the difference between the highest pressure and the minimum pressure in the system is the pressure loss. For example: the positive air pressure is 30Kpa, and the measured pressure at the end of the pipeline is 10Kpa, and the pressure loss is 20Kpa.

Negative pressure is to measure the pressure difference between the inlet pressure of the material pipe and the inlet pressure of the fan is the pressure loss. For example, the air pressure of the inlet of the system's feed pipe is -1Kpa, while the negative pressure of the inlet of the fan is -15Kpa, then the pressure loss of the whole system is 15Kpa.

The pressure loss is related to the roughness of the inner wall of the pipeline, the diameter of the pipe, the conveying distance and the lifting height. Generally, the rougher and longer the pipe, the higher the lift, the greater the pressure loss. The larger the pipe diameter, the smaller the pressure loss, and the pressure loss in the negative pressure system should also consider the influence of filtration equipment.

General negative pressure pneumatic conveying pressure loss includes three parts: 1, the pressure loss caused by the air flow; 2. Pressure loss caused by materials; 3, the pressure difference generated by the cloth bag;

According to our previous experience, in order to make the system run stably in the design, the pressure loss of the whole system is best equal to 50%-70% of the fan wind pressure, the wind pressure is too large and easy to block the material, and the power consumption is too small.
